1st of January.. that's my first time for my feet to step on Glasgow. Yeah!!!
I came with my parents because they want to see what Glasgow is.
I tried to make everything perfect, with a little worry about what surprise will happen. I learn the culture here *coz this's interesting !! I want to know ALL about GLASGOW, SCOTLAND, and UK !!*
1st day
When we were arrived in the Glasgow International Airport, from "International Arrivals" we looked around and I said," It's so quiet. Where's the people ? The money exchanger is closed also" In fact, my mother wanted to exchange her Dollar to Pounds. We asked a man, and he told the way. We didn't use to hear about the accent so.. we just," Pardon?.. Pardon?" Oh..that's embarrassed. Finally the man walked in front of us and showed it. Oh My God.. he's so patient.
We got thirsty so we went to a shop near the money exchanger. Yap ! One lesson again from this city. The people here like to queue up, although the line is so..long. (and after this, I'm really sure that everything is done by queuing up although when we want to asking question to sales in the mall) I think that's a polite behavior.
I give my thumbs up about their patience.
Our brings were so heavy and many and I was with a little confused about what kind of transport was possible for us. In my guide book, there're bus and taxi. But I was not sure they were possible or not because in my mind, bus is public transport so it hasn't some spaces to big suitcases like these. Taxi ? in my mind taxi is the same as sedan so, it impossible ! In the fact, it all turn around. :O There are spaces for these "cupboards" *oops in bus, and the taxi isn't like sedan. aha ! We decided to go by bus because it's cheaper and easy.
The bus drivers helped us to bring our heavy suitcases *thx, sir!
After we arrived at the central of Glasgow, we walked to our hotel for the first stay. I came out from bus, 1,2,3... ough! my face felt cold. Although I have a lot of layers for my clothes --" in facts, my face felt like punched with the coldness, otherwise its wind...phew.... So, I used face cover..like Arabic women.... *surprised
First day in Glasgow : it's quiet. Really quiet, and what's the reason ? IT'S NEW YEARS' EVE
